ABOUT
I love to offer more than just food
Hi, I am Alex Wester. The hands and mind behind Elemental Table.
I have more than 10 years of experience working in professional kitchens, from street food and burger joints to fine dining and Michelin-starred kitchens. Now I am taking the next step in responsibility and creative freedom.
What interests me now is not recreating a restaurant in somebody’s home. It is bringing the craft and discipline of a good kitchen into spaces where the cooking can be more responsive, generous and alive.

CRAFT · INSTINCT · GENEROSITY
Prepare just enough for the magic to happen.
Professional kitchens taught me the value of preparation, repetition and knowing exactly what needs to happen next.
Private cooking taught me something slightly different: the plan also has to survive contact with actual people.
Someone arrives late. Event programmes change. The weather changes. Lunch becomes dinner. People are hungrier than expected…
I like having just enough structure to deliver what was set up before an event, while also being able to shift plans dynamically and intuitively, adapting to every moment.
WHY ELEMENTAL?
Back to the things that matter.
Cooking is alchemy and transformation, but I do not think everything needs to be transformed beyond recognition. I love to work with whole ingredients, spices and fresh herbs—the contrast between something cooked very long and slow and ingredients that are completely fresh. Something simple can be as surprising and fulfilling as something very complex.
I love to inspire people to start cooking for themselves, use ingredients they would not naturally pick up and make new combinations just to try.

A WAY OF LOOKING
Philosophy belongs in the work more than in the sales pitch.
I studied philosophy before and alongside becoming a chef.
It changed the way I pay attention to things: how people experience a room, how expectations shape an evening, how much can change through timing, and how easily the smallest detail can alter the whole.
Most of the time, none of that needs explaining at the table.
It just needs to work.
